Best Spray Tan Machine: Four Picks by How You’ll Use It
Compare MineTan Bronze Babe, Norvell Oasis and M1000, and Fuji salonTAN by price, portability, warranty and the work each setup suits.
For a new mobile spray-tan business, the Norvell M1000 is the recommended starting point on this shortlist: it combines a separate turbine and gun, a 10-foot hose, a one-year warranty and included training. For occasional home use, the MineTan Bronze Babe Home kit costs much less. Choose the Norvell Oasis if hose-free packing matters most, or consider the Fuji salonTAN 6150 for a fixed salon with a busy appointment schedule.
These are specification-based recommendations, not hands-on test rankings. The useful distinction is what you need to carry, hold, clean and service—not which machine promises the “perfect” tan.
The shortlist at a glance
Prices below are advertised US-dollar prices checked October 24, 2026, before any applicable tax or shipping. Bundles differ; these are not complete workspace budgets.
| Best fit | Machine or kit | Listed price | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Occasional home use on a tight budget | MineTan Bronze Babe Home kit, pink | $69.99 sale; $149.99 regular | Low entry cost, but do not confuse it with the separate Professional model |
| Compact, hose-free packing | Norvell Oasis system | $189.99 | Three-pound all-in-one unit; six-month warranty |
| Starting mobile work | Norvell M1000 bundle | $384.99 | Separate turbine, gun and hose mean more pieces to pack |
| Busy, fixed salon | Fuji salonTAN 6150 with T-PRO, at Spray Tanning Store | $1,039 | Much higher purchase price; less attractive for occasional home use |
Best budget home pick: MineTan Bronze Babe Home
The pink Home kit includes the machine, 237 ml/8 fl oz of Double Dark Pro Spray Mist and a tanning mitt. That makes it a reasonable low-cost option for someone who wants to try spraying at home without buying a larger turbine setup. MineTan lists those contents on the product page.
Its home-use positioning is not evidence that it will suit back-to-back paid bookings. MineTan also sells a separate Bronze Babe Professional model; check the exact name before comparing specifications or ordering replacement parts.
MineTan’s equipment warranty is 12 months, parts only, against manufacturing defects. Shipping, maintenance and return expenses are excluded, so “one-year warranty” does not mean every repair-related cost is covered. Read MineTan’s warranty terms.
Best hose-free option: Norvell Oasis
The Oasis removes the separate hose and floor turbine from your packing list. Norvell lists a three-pound weight, two solution cups, an 8 oz bottle of Venetian solution and free Norvell University CORE training. Its warranty is six months.
The trade-off is handling: you hold the all-in-one unit while spraying. Norvell instructs users to keep it upright and level and fill each cup with no more than 2.5 oz of solution. Before buying, consider whether that position will be comfortable throughout a full-body application. Oasis specifications, directions and bundle contents.
Choose it when compact packing is more valuable to you than a separate gun-and-turbine arrangement. For consecutive bookings, ask Norvell about the operating and cooling requirements for your planned schedule rather than assuming “professional” means unrestricted continuous use.
Best starting point for mobile work: Norvell M1000
The M1000 bundle includes the HVLP turbine, M Series gun, a 10-foot quick-release hose, a gun quick-repair kit and three 8 oz solutions: Venetian, Dark and Tuscan. Norvell lists the system at 6.5 pounds with a one-year warranty and included CORE training. M1000 bundle details.
That combination earns it the mobile recommendation here: training and a repair kit are useful inclusions when you are building an appointment routine, while the separate turbine leaves only the applicator in your spraying hand.
It still requires technique. Norvell specifies holding the gun vertically, about six inches from the client, and rotating the air cap—not tilting the gun—to change the pattern direction. More distance increases overspray. Those are M1000 directions, not universal settings for every machine.
If you are staying within this brand, the Norvell Oasis, M1000 and Z3000 comparison covers the next buying decision.
Best busy-salon candidate: Fuji salonTAN 6150 with T-PRO
Fuji recommends the 6150 for 40-plus tans per day. Its published specifications include a 10-foot hose, 56 dBA operating sound level, a two-stage bypass motor and a T-PRO bottom-feed applicator with a 250 cc cup and 0.8 mm air-cap set. Fuji lists a weight of 19.73 pounds—another reason to consider it for a fixed workspace rather than prioritize it for light packing. Treat the daily figure as manufacturer guidance, not an independently verified endurance result. Fuji’s model-specific specifications.
This is worth considering when appointment volume and a noise-conscious salon setup justify the price. It is difficult to justify for someone spraying only occasionally at home. The published sound figure is also not proof that it is the quietest machine available; test conditions may differ between brands.
Fuji provides a limited two-year warranty on salonTAN systems, with exclusions including normal wear, inadequate maintenance and unauthorized repairs. Fuji warranty terms.
Check these before paying
- Your actual workload: ask about back-to-back applications, cooling breaks and commercial-use coverage. Do not substitute a seller’s vague “professional” label for model-specific guidance.
- Serviceable parts: confirm availability and prices for cups, pickup tubes, seals, filters and the spray head or gun. Check who handles warranty work and who pays shipping.
- Electrical compatibility: confirm voltage and plug type for the exact unit being shipped, especially when buying internationally.
- The whole setup: allow for overspray containment, suitable extraction, protection and cleaning supplies—not just the machine and included solution. Use the spray-tan equipment checklist to build that budget.
Low-overspray marketing is not a safety guarantee. FDA restricts DHA to external application, excluding the eye area, lips and mucous membranes, and advises protection against inhaling or ingesting spray. If you cannot prevent those exposures, choose a non-mist self-tanning lotion or cream instead, following its directions and avoiding those areas. FDA guidance on sunless tanners.
Choose the machine for the workload, then choose the solution by shade and rinse time. A more expensive turbine is not a substitute for the right formula or its application directions.
